Every family has a good room, and a good coat to go with it. There were the good clothes, brought out with extra care. Someone straightened your collar at the door. Getting dressed was part of the occasion, and part of showing up for one another.

Kept for Good begins with those memories of Sunday dressing and the life around it. Some things are too good to save for best, so we made them to be worn on an ordinary Tuesday too.

Trying to be good

Of course, we remember the interruptions too. Arriving late and hoping no one would notice. A sweet unwrapped just as the room fell quiet, or catching someone’s eye when you really shouldn’t.

The Sweetie Trousers carry some of that mischief. Pink beetled-linen pockets are turned out against dark striped linen, with wide legs and an easy elasticated waist. Finding the sweets should be rather easier now.

Twinkle Tweed.
A little more gold.

Textured gold Donegal tweed catches the light in the folds of the cape. Its shape borrows from choir robes, with ivory linen inside. There is ceremony in putting it on.

The same cloth makes the bow-tied Bralette and rounded Puff Shorts. Over the soft ivory Choir Practice Shirt, the gold feels easy to wear. Bring one piece into an everyday outfit, or enjoy the whole ensemble.

The good coat.

Loinnir is Irish for sparkle. This is our signature pink, beetled until it sparkles, and the latest chapter in our ongoing development work with William Clark & Sons. At their beetling mill in Upperlands, wooden hammers pound the linen until it turns crisp and catches the light.

The Anointed Coat gives it gathered sleeves and a subtle puffball hem, with red linen flashing inside. There are pockets, and room for a jumper. Wear the good coat on an ordinary day.

A new shape for Kindred.

After the generous, oversized fit of our much-loved tweed jackets, Inheritance introduces a more fitted shape. A tailored waist and stand collar bring a new proportion to familiar Donegal tweed.

In the brown blazer, black beetled linen gathers into a small bustle at the back. Over everyday trousers, or with the Twinkle Tweed Puff Shorts showing beneath.

Shamrock & the beetled bow skirts

Shamrock brings green and glints of gold to the Inheritance Blazer. A tailored waist and stand collar give the tweed a neat line above the fullness of the Slate Bow Skirt.

The skirts owe that shape and sheen to beetled Irish linen. A bow gathers the front; an elasticated back and pockets make them easy to wear. Choose slate, black or Loinnir Pink, and bring out the good skirt with a shirt or a familiar knit.

Small shimmers run through the pale Donegal tweed of the Inheritance Coat, catching the light as you move.

Bolts of turquoise run through the dark ground of this Mourne tweed, woven in a family workshop in County Down.

The Shawl gives the cloth room to fall from the shoulders, with Irish linen inside. Pull it over a dress, or your Off Duty Joggers for a walk.

The Ceremony Dress

The Ceremony Dress takes the long, easy lines of choir robes into black Irish linen. Soft gathers at the neck give the cloth fullness, with a frog fastening adding a considered detail.

Named for the bells that call everyone to church, with a decidedly short hem. Black Irish linen is beetled by William Clark & Sons until it has the sheen and crispness to hold those sculptural puff sleeves.
