The cloth
Loinnir Pink.
Loinnir means sparkle.
Our own pink Irish linen, beetled until it catches the light.
It is taken to Upperlands, wound on the beam and struck by wooden hammers, again and again, until the weave closes and the surface takes on a soft sheen.
That crispness is what holds a shape away from the body and lets the light run along the folds.
One pair of hands,
start to finish.
Every piece is cut and sewn in Belfast by one of our sewists, who sees it through from the first cut to the last stitch.
We keep our making close to home on purpose. Belfast was once the linen capital of the world, and the skills that built it are rare now. Making here is how we keep them alive.
