House of Kindred
House
of Kindred
MANIFESTO Kindred of Ireland is a modern heritage house rooted in linen, place and people. We honour Ireland’s textile traditions by carrying them forward through contemporary design, local craft, and clothing made to hold story.
Our Story
Our story begins in the flax fields of Ireland, shaped by generations who lived and worked within the linen industry.
For us, Kindred is about belonging to something bigger than ourselves.honouring our textile heritage, feeling connected to those who came before us, and caring for the legacy we leave behind. We believe in making slowly, reimagining old techniques, and allowing the present to harness the power of the past.
Our Founders
Amy and Joel founded Kindred of Ireland in 2020 with a shared belief that clothing should carry meaning, integrity, and care. Shaped by family history and local craft, the house was sparked by an old newspaper cutting of Amy’s grandmother Winnie spinning linen as a teenager, a quiet reminder of the lives and values that came before.
Craftsmanship
Craftsmanship sits at the heart of Kindred. We work with Irish linen and Donegal tweed, using traditional techniques such as Irish crochet and beetled linen, made slowly and locally by skilled artisans. Each piece reflects a deep respect for quality, material, and the hands behind the work.
House Codes
Our values are shaped by care for the people we work with, the places we belong to, and the legacy we leave behind. They guide how we make, how we act, and how we grow as a house. We believe in building something meaningful, responsible, and rooted in long-term thinking.
Sustainability
Sustainability at Kindred is holistic and human. It encompasses how we design, how we make, how we treat people, and how we give back. From local production and considered materials to supporting charitable partners, we believe responsibility should sit at the heart of everything we do.
Our Place
Belfast is the place that holds Kindred. It shapes our rhythm, our way of working, and our connection to the makers and materials around us. By keeping production close to home, we are able to build lasting relationships, support local skill, and stay rooted in the place our story began.
