A little ceremony goes a long way. In black Irish linen, the Ceremony Dress takes the long, easy lines of choir and clerical robes and gives them a place in the everyday wardrobe.

Soft gathers at the neckline bring fullness to the cloth. Three frog fastenings, decorative looped closures, add a small, considered detail against the plain black linen.

Wear it with flat shoes for a long lunch, or beneath the Twinkle Tweed Cape when the evening calls for a little sparkle. Its simple, flowing shape leaves room to make it your own.

Linen softens and grows more beautiful with age, which is one of the reasons we love it so much. We recommend either hand washing or machine washing at 30°C separately. Leave to air dry naturally, then press with a warm iron if desired. Do not tumble dry.

Our made to order pieces have a production time of 3-4 weeks.

Ready to ship items will be shipped within 1-2 working days.

Delivery is £6, and free on orders over £250.

Plain black linen, the colour of Sunday best.

Black was the colour of the good clothes: the Sunday coat, the choir robe, the dress kept for occasions. In linen it is never flat. The slub of the yarn gives it texture, and it softens with every wash.

Kept for Good uses it plainly, so the shape does the talking: the long, gathered line of the Ceremony Dress, the double-breasted Bridget Blouse, tumbled for softness, and the Off Duty Joggers. For black with a sheen, there is our beetled linen.
