The Irish Brat
Our Brat is a modern interpretation of Ireland’s oldest outer layer. The old, generous idea of one good garment, now cut with sleeves and a soft tie so it moves with you.
Carrying the Brat Forward
You throw it on, wrap, cinch, and it settles around the body with the easy comfort of a favourite blanket. It feels at home on coffee runs, evening strolls, or simply cocooning in warmth at the end of the day — our Irish answer to a jacket.
We’ve reimagined it in two distinct fabric stories. One in pure Irish linen: light, breathable, quietly structured, with a washed hand that drapes beautifully. Worn loose, it falls with elegance; tied, it shapes without fuss. The other combines Donegal Tweed and Irish linen in a reversible edition — tweed on one side for warmth and structure, linen on the other for breathability and a subtle sheen. The tweed itself is hand-woven in the far north-west of the island, flecked with colour and character, carrying centuries of skill in every thread. Turn it to suit the day: tweed outward for crisp mornings and city pavements; linen outward for luminous evenings indoors.
Every Brat is fully reversible, clean-finished inside and out, with a generous wrap and ties you can knot, bow or leave loose. It’s a piece designed to live with you season after season — heritage made modern, clothes to be worn, cherished, and passed on.
