Reflecting on 2023, our hearts are full with gratitude towards you, our treasured customers and Kindred Spirits. Your unwavering support has propelled Kindred of Ireland to new things this year. Below is a review of our 2023, followed by our highlights in photos 🤍
Â
The year began with the our SS23 'Nostalgia' Collection in March. This collection holds a special place in our hearts, as it encapsulates our longing for cherished memories. Each piece in this collection is a tribute to the nostalgic moments that have shaped us, woven with the same love and attention that characterises Kindred of Ireland.
Â
May brought an exciting milestone: our first Pop-Up in London, in partnership with Daily Dress Edit. Our rainbow Hope Dress, born from this collaboration, captured the hearts of many, becoming our best-selling item of the year. It also brought many of you into our community for the first time ✨
Â
July marked another proud moment as Brown Thomas became a stockist for the second year. As Ireland's oldest department store, it was an honor to have our pieces showcased alongside prestigious brands like JW Anderson and Simone Rocha. This year's collection at Brown Thomas was particularly special, blending our signature beetled metallic linen with Irish linen crochet - a beautiful amalgamation of tradition and innovation. This harmony is something we're eager to explore further in 2024.
Â
In September, we introduced our inaugural 'Pre-Fall' collection, 'On The Move'. Designed for life's transitions, these elevated staples smoothly transition from work engagements to social gatherings, embodying versatility and elegance. The collection also saw the debut of our now much-loved Vivienne Dress, a sister to our popular crochet Vivienne blouse, celebrated for its exquisite Irish crochet detailing that infuses heritage into modern design.
Â
To commemorate my 30th birthday in October, we unveiled the Donegal Tweed Collection, a nod to our commitment to exploring Ireland's rich textile heritage. The handwoven Donegal Tweed, known for its distinctive flecks, was warmly embraced by you, especially the Tweed Blazer, which became an instant classic.
Â
Perhaps the most significant development this year was welcoming Joel, my husband, as our new CEO. Having worked tirelessly behind the scenes for three years, his official inclusion marks a new chapter for Kindred of Ireland, truly embodying the essence of a family business. His vision and values have been instrumental in our journey thus far, and we are excited for what 2024 holds.
Â
Lastly, our inaugural Christmas advert heralded a new tradition, allowing us to delve deeper into our storytelling. It beautifully narrates Dana's journey from the US to Ireland, telling her story of Christmas traditions, both old and new. I know her story resonated with many of you stories and memories.
Â
Thank you for being part of our journey in 2023. Your support not only fuels our creative passion but also affirms that Kindred of Ireland is a community with real heart and connection. Every order, subscription to our newsletter, social media like and comment, and lovely email you send, is appreciated more than you know.
Â
Here's to more adventures, more stories, and more connections in the coming year 🥂
