Inspired by the traditional brat (pronounced brawt), this garment was once a constant companion on the Irish landscape — a cloak that offered warmth, shelter, and protection. Worn by both men and women, it was at once shawl, blanket, and outer layer, serving those who walked long, slow journeys across the island. The brat was often treasured and passed down through generations, a symbol of care and continuity.

Our AW25 interpretation honours that history while making it deeply modern. Crafted in reversible tumbled Irish linen — Ivory on one side, White on the other — it moves effortlessly from day to dinner, from soft daylight to candlelit evening.

The model is 5’8 and UK 8. This piece is one-size.

Designed as a loose-fitting jacket with an oversized wrap scarf, it can be draped, knotted, or layered, with hidden ties to secure the silhouette while keeping its effortless drape. Due to our made-to-order model, all pieces can be adjusted slightly if requested.

Linen softens and grows more beautiful with age, which is one of the reasons we love it so much. We recommend either hand washing or machine washing at 30°C separately. Leave to air dry naturally, then press with a warm iron if desired. Do not tumble dry.
